Frequently Asked Questions

How do you vet your sitters?

All sitters go through a stringent interview process and both academic and work references are followed through.

Will I meet the sitter in advance?

Yes, we will arrange a consultation between you and the sitter who will be caring for your pet/s. This will enable the sitter to meet your pet/s and learn their daily routine as well as answer any questions that you might have. Consultations are frequently arranged for evenings or weekends, but can be made at any convenient time. There is no charge for the consultation.

What about food and living expenses?

You will not be expected to meet any food or living expenses of the sitter – the fee is a flat rate and will not unexpectedly increase.

Does the sitter stay with my pets all the time?

Due to minimum wage legislation, unless you specifically request 24-hour care the sitter will be able to leave the property; however our sitters will not leave your home unattended for more than four hours.

What happens if our return is delayed?

If the sitter’s diary allows them to stay on (which is usually the case) then you need only contact them directly or the office to inform them of your delay. In the instance of the sitter being unable to stay on, another sitter from our team will be able to step in and will take over, having been introduced to your pet/s and briefed by the original sitter.

What happens if they are taken ill?

If your sitter is taken ill, another member of the team will take over, and where possible meet you for another consultation before you leave.
